MAR 18, 2004 (newstodate): Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co will cooperate with Boeing to perform the first-ever cargo conversion of a Boeing-747-400 passenger aircraft.
The major conversion projects involve reinforcing the main cargo bay and adding a cargo door to the plane.
The converted aircraft's payload will be 113.5 tonnes over a range of 7,600 kilometres.
