MAR 08, 2004 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines has inked a code-share agreement with Egypt Air, taking effect from the coming summer program.
Under the contract, the 10 weekly flights between Vienna and Cairo will be code-shared, comprising six weekly Austrian flights and four Egypt Air flights.
The agreement also enables Egypt Air to cease operations into Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo Airports as traffic will instead be provided by Austrian Airlines via its Vienna-hub.
-By increasing the number of frequencies and creating a range of new codeshare connections via Vienna, we are making a decisive contribution to the development and expansion of commercial relations between Egypt and Austria and consolidating Cairo as the upcoming major hub connecting Europe to Africa, Middle and Far East, says Mohamed Mounir, Egypt Air VP commercial.
