MAR 17, 2004 (newstodate): Airbus has attracted three new Japanese providers to the Airbus A380 production.
Matsushita Avionics Systems has been selected as preferred supplier of in-flight entertainment equipment, Koito Industries has been selected as preferred supplier of passenger seats, Sumitomo Precision Products will be supplying the gear uplock spring strut assembly for the actuation system of the wing landing gear, and JAMCO has been selected as preferred supplier of galley systems for the A380.
To date, eleven customers have announced firm orders and commitments for a total of 129 A380s. The 555-seater A380 will enter into service in early 2006.
