MAR 18, 2004 (newstodate): Aeroflot is currently considering means of getting a come-back in Russia's domestic traffic, industry sources say.
Siberia Airlines has taken the lead in Russian domestic air transport, also boosted by partnerships with other carriers, new pricing sytems, and a number of new routes opened.
Sources say that Aeroflot now analyses the situation including setting up a new structure of regional domestic hubs.
The move may be spurred by the fact that Aeroflot's older aircraft that do not comply with EU noise regulations are from this year prohibited from operating into the Baltic and other new member states, freeing capacity for a domestic offensive.
