FEB 05, 2004 (newstodate): Similar to other reports from the industry, the US association, ATA also announces a significant downturn in the North Atlantic market during 2003.
ATA's member airlines were down 3.5 percent in total cargo traffic, TRK, comprising a fall by 3.7 percent in cargo volumes and 1.9 percent in mail transportation.
In Decmeber alone, ATA's members report a 1.1 percent drop in freight and express, while mail was down by nine percent. In total traffic over the Noerth Atlantic was down by 1.8 percent.
ATA members are Aloha, Americas West, American, ATA, Continental, Delta, Emery, FedEx, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, United, UPS, and US Airways.
