FEB 20, 2004 (newstodate): No cargo shipment arriving at SAS Cargo's terminals is accepted as security screened unless it comes from an airport terminal.
-We follow the regulations by the Danish CAA to the letter, and we also note that airport terminals on the continent are increasingly aware of this issue, says Erik Andersen, SAS Cargo security manager.
Andersen says SAS Cargo is fully aware that a substantial volume of air cargo is picked up at off-airport terminals and subsequently by-passing airports even if AWB data state shipments to be ex-airport.
-We check on every shipment, and if there is the slightest doubt the shipment is considered un-secured and fully screened at our terminal before being admitted, he says.
