FEB 18, 2004 (newstodate): MyTravel Airways in Denmark is seeing cargo business as a significant revenue contributor alongside the primary role as provider of air travels for tourists.
Operating three Airbus A330-200, the cargo department aggregates an annual turnover of DKK 10 million and a total volume of 2,000 tonnes of air cargo, mostly generated during the winter season.
The major cargo products comprise exports of food and perishables from the Canary Islands, clothes and shoes from Dubai, Sharjah, clothes and electronics from Thiland, clothes from Colombo, fish and ships spares from Oslo, and general cargo, food products and newspapers from Scandinavia.
MyTravel Airways in Scandinavia has contracted Airtrade Support, based in Stockholm, as its cargo GSA, while cargo sales at the resort destinations have been assigned to local sub-agents.
