FEB 2004 (newstodate): India's first budget airline, Air Deccan has picked Airbus for delivery of its new aircraft.
Air Deccan has ordered two new Airbus A320 from Airbus, and has taken options on two more.
In addition, Air Deccan will lease a further five A320 aircraft from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise.
Air Deccan currently flies seven ATR 42 turboprops on services from Bangalore to cities in the south of India. Air Deccan intends to use the A320 to expand its low-cost operations throughout India.
