FEB 18, 2004 (newstodate): Thailand's new capital airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport, to be officially opened in September next year, will provide Thai Cargo with fresh potentials.
The Thai Cargo complex will cover a total of 90,000 sq.m. and have an annual capacity of handling 966,000 tonnes of air cargo in its first phase, late to expand to a maximum annual capacity of 1,226,000 tonnes.
Cargo managmenet at the airport will be placed under the Customs Free Zone, facilitating the airport to develop into a major Asian cargo hub where shipments can be freely moved within the area without any customs procedures.
