FEB 03, 2004 (newstodate): Expeditors Finland is seeing positive signs for growth in the Finnish market in 2004.
-Compared to last year we are probably around 30 percent higher in sales so far in 2004, says Paivi Lundell, Expeditors Finland general manager.
According to Mrs Lundell, growth is especially strong in the sea cargo segments but it is also seen in air cargo that constitutes 60-65 percent of the company's total volumes.
-The strong increase this year is not only driven by Far Eastern business, but is equally distributed among other regions as well, she says.
While Nokia and its suppliers do play a significant role in Finnish cargo volumes, other business segments are growing as well, and much volume is generated within Expeditor's global network, according to Mrs Lundell.
Expeditors Finland, with offices close to Helsinki Vantaa Airport, currently employs just under 20 staff, but expects to expand by one to three new staff per year.
