FEB 06, 2004 (newstodate): DOT is the name of a new Lithuanian ACMI provider in the market for 50-seater aircraft.
The company is set up by Danish regional airline DAT, with 49 percent, and a Lithuanian partner, Evaldas Petkus, who has served as Air Lithuania VP and captain, holding the rest of the stakes.
-The business idea behind DOT is to provide capacity to DAT and other airlines as needed, and initially one ATR-42 aircraft has just been re-leased to DOT and registered in Lithuania to launch the airline, says Jesper Rungholm, CEO and co-owner of DAT.
According to Rungholm, the aircraft has already been contracted for one month's operations in New Foundland, and will operate in France on another contract.
After Lithuania's admission into the EU, the parties have agreed to DAT taking further stakes in the company.
