FEB 17, 2004 (newstodate): In January, Copenhagen Airport had a fine start to the year, with total cargo volumes up 3.3 percent to 25,708 tonnes.
After a prolonged period with declining volumes of transfer cargo, crucial to the airport, even this figure stabilised, with a modest 0.6 percent growth to 17.408 tonnes.
The airport's progress was mainly due to a 23.3 percent increase in cargo imports, 3,669 tonnes, but cargo exports also rose by 0.3 percent to 4,631 tonnes.
In January, transfer cargo constituted 67.7 percent of the airport's total, down from 69.5 percent last year.
