FEB 16, 2004 (newstodaste): From today, Cargo 2000 has launched a global campaign to attract new members by highlighting the benefits of revenue growth, reduced operating costs and
enhanced status that result from implementing an industry-standard quality system.
Nippon Cargo Airlines, Polar Air Cargo and freight forwarder, Trans-Trade Inc., have all joined as full Cargo 2000 members during the last six months.
Global ground handlers, Menzies Aviation Group, Swissport, Worldwide Flight Services, AF Logistik and Riege Software have also become the group's first Industry Associate members, bringing the total to 32 members including airlines, forwarders, and industry associate members.
-Forwarders and airlines are losing market share. IATA has identified a shift of USD 2.5 billion over a five-year period. We also know that yield decline is the greatest concern for these businesses. Cargo 2000 can help to address these issues by enabling members to deliver reliable, time-definite service with superior information integration and visibility, says Ron Cesana, Cargo 2000 project director.
The Cargo 2000 has started in Hong Kong today, and will call at London, Chicago,
Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris, Milan, Seoul, Toronto and Vienna.
