FEB 23, 2004 (newstodate): The Board of Aeroflot has reviewed the airline's flight safety record as the airline's prime goal.
Aeroflot's flight safety is now within 99.4-99.98 percent which meets IATA's top rating criteria.
During the last year with increasing traffic volumes by Aeroflot the airline's overall aircraft incident rate has decreased, while certain categories of incidents including those produced by adverse weather conditions and bird strikes have increased proportionately with the larger traffic volumes.
At its latest meeting the Board also confirmed a complex program for preventive measures to further enhance flight safety in 2004.
