DEC 13, 2004 (newstodate): New Bangkok-based cargo airline Thai Air Cargo, to be launched by mid-2005, builds on two alternate scenarios.
-Our choice scenario hinges on the availability in the market of an MD-11F freighter. If we can secure this aircraft, we will operate a network comprising two weekly flights on routes Bankgkok-Nagoya, Bangkok-Bombay, Bangkok-Shanghai, and Bangkok-Delhi-Frankfurt, respectively, says Lennart Holmgren, Thai Air Cargo.
-If we cannot secure an MD-11F in time, we will instead take in an Airbus A300-600F on a network also comprising flights from Bangkok to Nagoya, Shanghai, Bombay, and Delhi, but with increased frequency, he says.
-The first scenario will thus include a mix of Asian and European traffic, while the second scenario will include a purely Asian network, says Lennart Holmgren.
