DEC 15, 2004 (newstodate): Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have set out to form a single regional air space by 2005.
An MoU was signed by the three states at the recent East African Summit under the EAC Sectoral Council on Transport for the enhancement of the aviation industry.
Under the single airspace initiative, the three countries will place their air navigation, security and traffic control equipment in one of the countries and operate it jointly, aiming at greatly enhancing air safety and optimise ressource utilization.
