DEC 15, 2004 (newstodate): Lithuanian Airlines and Donbassero have signed a code-share agreement on the route between Vilnius and Kiev.
Under the agreement, the three weekly flights between Vilnius and Kiev will be operated by Lithuanian Airlines, with Donbassearo securing a certain number of seats on the flights.
Lithuanian Airlines earlier operated the route together with Air Ukraine, but later trafficked the route on its own after the earlier code-share deal was cancelled.
-We are currently operating the ATR aircraft on the route to Kiev, but this is a temporary solution pending the arrical of two Boeing 737 aircraft before the 2005 summer season, says Giedrus Sniukas, Lithuanian Airlines spokesman.
The airline plans to have a fleet comprising six Boeing 737 and two Saab 2000 aircraft in 2005.
