DEC 09, 2004 (newstodate): Serbian airline JAT has now taken steps to rid itself of obligations for eight Airbus A319 aircraft, ordered by the former government in 1998.
The then government of Serbia signed a 400 million USD contract with Airbus including 23.5 mill USD as downpayment, and Serbia now aims at retrieving 19 of these after having decided for Boeing aircraft instead.
Canadian-owned company Donald Banker, based in the United Arab Emirates, has been contracted to identify a new customer for the eight aircraft within the framework of four months.
