DEC 20, 2004 (newstodate): Air India's Hajj flights will set new records.
From December 13 to January 15, 2005, the airline will operate 135 flights, compared to 92 last year. Also the number of Indian stations in this year's program has been expanded to 15.
104 flights will be operated with Air India's Airbus 310s and Indian Airlines' Airbus A300-B4 aircraft, 31 flights will be operated with Air-India's own Boeing 747-200s this year.
In addition, Air India will operate 14 extra section flights with Boeing 747-200 aircraft, including nine from Kozhikode, three from Bangalore and two from Mumbai.
In total some 40,000 Indian Hajj pilgroms will be flown to and from Mecca, with return operations from January 25, 2005 to February 24, 2005.
