DEC 21, 2004 (newstodate): Taipei-based China Airlines celebrates its 45th anniversary amidst a major fleet modernisation process.
China Airlines continued its fleet rejuvenation program in 2004, when a total of three A330-300 and two B747-400 passenger aircraft as well as two B747-400 freighters were introduced.
The A330-300 fleet will fully replace the A300-600R fleet by 2007, and by the end of 2004, China Airlines will operate a fleet of 63 modern aircraft with an average age of 5.8 years, one of the youngest fleets in the world.
Among the news in 2004 were the airline's cargo flights to Milan and Prague, recently inaugurated.
