DEC 13, 2004 (newstodate): By mid-December, Austrian Airlines Cargo plans to introduce Kiev as a new road feeder hub.
Together with Ukrainean International Airlines, Austrian Airlines Cargo now offers three weekly AN-12 cargo services between Vienna and Kiev, with a capacity of 15-16 tonnes per flight.
-With the new road feeder services to be introduced at Kiev, we offer onward connections to and from Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk that are important Ukrainean destinations in our network, says Franz Zoechbauer, Austrian Airlines VP Cargo.
According to Mr Zoechbauer, Austrian Airlines and Ukrainean Int'l Airlines also plan to expand their joint cargo flights from three to five weekly roundtrips from next year, reflecting the strong growth in cargo volumes, mainly imports, in the region.
