DEC 14, 2004 (newstodate): Boeing has selected Goodrich Corporation's cargo handling system for the 7E7 Dreamliner.
The cargo system includes the mechanisms for cargo handling as well as the floor panels for the cargo section.
-The 7E7's superior cargo capability is one of the reasons airlines around the world are so interested in the airplane, says Mike Bair, Boeing VP and general manager of the 7E7 program.
Three versions of the 7E7 have so far been proposed.
The 7E7-3 and the 7E7-8 both have a cargo capacity of five pallets and five LD3 units after passsenger bagage over 6,500 and 15,700 km, respectively, while the 7E7-9 will lift six pallets and eight LD3 units over 15,400 km.
