NOV 23, 2004 (newstodate): Macedonian airport, Ohrid has upgraded its airfield ligthing system this autumn.
The new system, which will conform to ICAO CAT I, was delivered by Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group at a cost of euro 1.1 million.
The airport is being rehabilitated by the Macedonian civil aviation authority. The aim is to increase capacity and improve the standard of safety. The airfield's modernization will be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
From 1996 to 1998, Siemens also modernized the airport in Skopje, the Macedonian capital.
