NOV 08, 2004 (newstodate): The Czech Airports Authority has again decided to cut landing charges at Praha Ruzyn Airport by 50 percent.
The reduction from the current 200 CZK per tonne maximum take-off weight to 100 CZK per tonne wil be in effect from November 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005.
The airport has seen a significant increase in earnings due to a strong growth in traffic.
-The decision to reduce the carrier-billed charge is based on sharing the positive results with airline companies, representing, at the same time, a sound incentive system for incorporating new destinations, says Petr Hlousek, the CAA CEO Deputy for Airport Operations.
This year's first landing charge reduction took effect on September 1, when the landing charge was reduced from 230 CZK to 200 CZK per 1 ton of maximum take-off weight. Launching charges for regular flights from newly-served destination were reduced from 115 CZK to 100 CZK in the same process.
