NOV 10, 2004 (newstodate): In October, Finnair Cargo's traffic increased by 9.8 percent in terms of cargo tonnes carried.
The increase was mainly generated by the growth in Asian traffic by 10.9 percent, boosted by the airline's new route to Shanghai.
Volumes in European traffic decreased by 5.5 percent. In the North-Atlantic traffic cargo volumes were down 14.0 percent.
Volumes on the company's cargo traffic on chartered cargo flights increased by 123.3 percent.
The overall cargo load factor was 65.7 percent with load factor in the Far Eastern traffic at 82.4 and in the North Atlantic traffic at 87.3 percent.
