NOV 01, 2004 (newstodate): Emirates SkyCargo is boosting its freighter services at Gothenburg by introducing a second freighter from October 31.
The additional B747-400 freighter service will double the airline's Dubai-Gothenburg service from two to four times a week, and increase its Dubai-Hongkong freighter service from six to eight flights a week.
The increased frequencies will provide greater access to the Middle East, Africa and Indian Sub-continent. Exports from Scandinavia, where SAS Cargo has signed a blocked-spare agreement with Emirates SkyCargo on the Hong Kong freighter, mainly comprise finished telecommunication products, automotive spare parts and pharmaceuticals.
In the other direction, the additional services will support increased demand of cargo
flows from China and other points in Emirates' network to Scandinavia the hub in Dubai.
From China and Hong Kong, Emirates SkyCargo carries toys and fabrics, and imports into Scandinavia include computer chips and hi-tech components for the telecommunication manufacturing industry.
Emirates SkyCargo sales in Scandinavia are provided by its cargo GSA, ScanPartners.
