NOV 30, 2004 (newstodate): What will happen to Ukraine's production of Antonov aircraft, including the AN-124, if there is a fundamental change of country's orientation after the solution of the current political crisis?
Ukrainean industry sources point out that the cooperation between Russia and Ukraine on the AN-124 production could be questioned if Ukraine turns towards EU, loosening or rejecting its current Russian predominance.
In September, Russia and Ukraine held an interdepartmental advisory meeting in Kiev to set up a project group to define the project and ways of financing the business plan for reviving production of the Ruslan freighter.
The business plan was to be agreed upon by the end of this month, and the issue would next be confirmed at an interstate meeting in the Federal Agency of Industry by December.
