OCT 29, 2004 (newstodate): Hungarian carrier Malev proved to be a short-time caller at Russian airport Yekaterinburg in the Sverdlovsk region.
Malev started operation from Budapest to Yekaterinburg from June 3, flying twice wekly with Boeing 737 aircraft.
But after only a few months, Malev discontinued the route this autumn.
-Malv's ever improving business results are largely due to our focused market survey efforts. Latest analysis results showed that our Yekaterinburg flights failed to pass our stringent economy criteria, the airline says.
-The passenger load factor of these flights failed to meet expectations built on preliminary market research results and, in light of current forecasts, is likely to remain level in the months to come.
Malev closed down the route from September 15.
