OCT 28, 2004 (newstodate): Sky Alliance may become the name of the new Russian airline alliance.
The alliance includes Russian airlines KrasAir, Omskavia, Domodedovo Airlines, and Sibaviatrans, the former flight divison of the Krasnoyarsk Metallurgy Factory.
As the only airline among them to emerge from this year in the black, KrasAir is playing a leading role in this alliance, Russian industry sources say.
-The other alliance members have huge losses, and their aircraft fleets are not utilized efficiently.
-The first step is to improve the financial situation and even split traffic income between the members in equal portions, and assist eachother with lease arrangements for new aircraft. Further down the line are plans to continue under new alliance brand, sources say.
