OC T 26, 2004 (newstodate): SAS and airBaltic are futher strengthening their integration by a new code-share agreement.
From October 31, all airBaltic flights to and from Riga, Latvia, and Vilnius, Lithuania, will be code-shared with SAS.
The only airBaltic flights outside the new code-share agreement are thus fligths to and from Moscow, Kiev, and Minsk.
-Code sharing is a significant step to improve and expand cooperation between airBaltic and Scandinavian airlines. It will facilitate further airBaltic integration into SAS network, says Bertolt Flick, airBaltic President & CEO.
SAS-owned airBaltic is emerging as a major tool to expand the grip by SAS on the three Baltic markets, in close competition against Estonian Air and Lithuanian Airlines.
airBaltic is already expanding in Lithuania through its hub at Vilnius, and plans are underway to enter Estonia, too, as reported by newstodate yesterday.
