OCT 13, 2004 (newstodate): Ljubljana Airport is planning for a major euro 50 million investment in new facilities.
Comprised by the program are construction of a new terminal by 2007, with a car park and an office building to follow.
Aerodrom Ljubljana also plans to purchase a plot to build a new road, and construction of a small hotel, a cargo store and a new control tower are also in the pipeline.
The airport has reportedly negotiated new flights with several carriers, including budget airlines, and Air France will probably launch new flights between Ljubljana and Paris from this autumn, industry sources say.
Ljubljana Airport has seen a positive development through the first half of this year.
Among the key figures is a growth in air cargo by 2.9 percent, while passenger loads grew by 10.2 percent and aircraft movements were up by 6.4 percent.
