OCT 15, 2004 (newstodate): The European GSA association, EGSAC, is reaching out to the world beyond Europe.
The association has just appointed Johannesburg-based The Cargo Connection, TCC, as its representative for South Africa.
TCC is the first company outside Europe to join EGSAC, following the consortium's recent decision to create a new rank of associate member for companies based on other continents.
-While our main priority remains to construct a robust network covering all of Europe and Eastern Europe, it is inevitable that EGSAC will eventually become a global organisation. We have considered how we can work towards this goal in a controlled fashion, and our conclusion was that we should initially appoint a few carefully-selected members in strategically important locations, says Glauco Martinelli, EGSAC president.
EGSAC now comprises 18 members, collectively representing over 120 airlines.
