OCT 26, 2004 (newstodate): Caucasus Airlines confirms that all operations have been suspended since October 18.
-This action is taken seven months after AZAL, the Azerbaijan State-owned airline, on March 15, 2004, unilaterally violated the written terms of the commercial agreement it had signed with Caucasus Airlines by selling tickets below the price that AZAL itself had insisted on imposing on travel between the Capitals of Baku and Tbilisi in previous negotiations, says Shaun Christian, Caucasus Airlines First Deputy Director.
Mr Shaun Christian says the Georgian CAA even allowed AZAL to operate more flights on March 25, 2004, causing still greater harm to Caucasus Airlines.
Caucasus Airlines claims that several attempts to solve the issues by regular negotiations have stranded by lack of support from the opposing sides, forcing the airline to suspend services.
