OCT 13, 2004 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo reports an overall growth in cargo tonnages by 18.9 percent in September.
In total the company transported 5,653.5 tonnes in September, and 63,198.8 tonnes during January-September after 21 percent growth compared to last year.
Asia and the Far East accunts for the bulk of the volumes. In September the airline lifted 3,204.8 tonnes on its Far Eastern route network, up 23.5 percent, and a total of 26,060.4 tonnes in January-September, up not less than 46.3 percent.
The carrier also did well on its freighter charter operations, including its North Atlantic traffic in cooperation with Emirates SkyCargo. In September the charter operations aggregated 1,087.2 tonnes, up 199.7 percent, and for the period January-September the volume was 8,227.9 tonnes, up 37.4 percent on last year.
The overall load factor in September dropped by 0.7 percentage points to 58.6 percent, while it was up 1.2 percentage points to 57.4 percent in January-September.
