JAN 29, 2004 (newstodate): Korean Airline Cargo plans to introduce a new freighter service at Oslo not later than the end of March, industry sources say.
It is understood that the new Boeing 747-400F will operate a once-weekly round-the-world service on the route Seoul-New York-Oslo-Seoul.
According to IATA statistics, the Norwegian market generated a total of 1,721 tonnes of air cargo destined for Seoul in 2003, comprising 2.9 percent of Norway's total freight volumes on IATA carriers.
Korean Airlines Cargo already operates a freighter service at Copenhagen Airport.
In 2003, Denmark generated a total of 2,154 tonnes of air cargo destined for Seoul, while the Swedish market that is not served by direct flights to Korea contributed 1,332 tonnes of air cargo to Seoul.
