JAN 16, 2004 (newstodate): From January 26, Finnair-owned Nordic Airlink plans to start a new route between Swedish destinations Gothenburg and Stockholm.
The airline already operates routes between the Nordic capitals, and from Stokholm to Luleaa, increasing competition to SAS on all routes.
Due to pressure on the airline's current aircraft capacity, the frequencies on existing routes to Copenhagen, Oslo and Luleaa are to be reduced to facilitate the early start-up of flights to Gothenburg, while to new MD-80 aircraft are reportedly to join the fleet later this year.
