JAN 15, 2004 (newstodate): EU's noise abatement regulations, already in full force within the region, are now extended to comprise also the airports of the new members states in former East Europe.
Thus, from January 1, 2004, Lithuanian airports Palanga, Siauliai and Vilnius have enforced the ban on non-Stage II compliant aircraft, and the ban will be further extended to comprise also Kaunas Airport from January 1, 2005.
