JAN 19, 2004 (newstodate): By the middle of 2004, Kharkov state aircraft factory plans to deliver the first of five An-140 aircraft to Libya, with the next aircraft following with two months' intervals.
The USD 45 million contract was signed last year with Air Libya.
Air Libya selected the An-140 as it already operates an ex-Soviet fleet of An-24, An-26, Yak-40, and Tu-134 aircraft, reducing the training and maintenance costs needed to take in the new aircraft.
