JAN 14, 2004 (newstodate): In December, Finnair Cargo recorded a strong growth at 11 percent in terms of cargo carried.
The increase was exclusively due to an unsurpassed growth by 45.3 percent in cargo traffic to and from the Far East, notably China where Shanghai was added as a new destination.
Over-all growth on Finnair's scheduled services was 18 percent, and while European cargo loads were still up 4.9 percent, cargo volumes over the North Atlantic dropped 4.1 percent.
