JAN 28, 2004 (newstodate): British Airways has announced plans for another deep cut in costs over the next two years.
The plan aims to reduce staff costs by GBP300 million including a 30 percent reduction of employee costs in head office and support functions, and another 15 percent in operational areas.
The savings will be in addition to the 13,000 manpower reduction due to be achieved by March 31 this year under the airline's Future Size and Shape review announced in February 2002.
The airline envisages, however, that the size of the current flying programme will be maintained.
