SEP 05, 2003 (newstodate): Schenker-owned Northern Cargo, specialising in forwarding of fresh salmon exports, mulls plans for adding a third Aeroflot freighter service from Oslo to Japan.
Since February 2002, the company has been operating a chartered Aeroflot DC-10-40F freighter twice weekly to Narita, Japan.
-The service performs nicely, with a very high regularity, says Arild Jaabak, Schenker Northern Cargo managing director.
-We are currently evaluating potentials for adding a third frequency, to operate into Osaka, he says.
Possibilities for a future upgrade of the service from the current 62 tonnes-capacity DC-10 to a 90 tonnes MD-11 freighter service are also being evaluated.
