SEP 05, 2003 (newstodate): After a flat H1, Jetpak Denmark is optimistic about increased volumes and business for the remainder of 2003.
-Originally focussed on airport-door business primarily in the capital area, Jetpak Denmark is now preparing for a contrywide roll-out from this autumn and continuing into early 2004, says Henrik Duus Kristensen, Jetpak Denmark managing director.
-The focus will from now on be on countrywide door-to-door deliveries within the 0-12 hours segment based on full utilization of flight connections and deliveries/pickups with a fleet of vans carrying the Jetpak logo.
Now comprising some 10 Jetpak vans, the fleet will expand to about 40 vans through contracts with a network of local hauliers.
In the first six months of 2003, Jetpak Denmark generated 13-14,000 shipments, and the staff now comprises a total of 17 people in a sales department, marketing and administration.
-We do not really consider Jetpak a competitor to the integrators, who are mainly in the "next-day" or "overnight" segments; actually we rather cooperate as the integrators are among our largest customers as to distribution and transportation, says Kristensen.
According to Kristensen, the bulk of the volume now being targetted comprises large logistics customers, including foreign companies increasingly localizing their regional HQs in the Oeresund region
