SEP 24, 2003 (newstodate): The launch of a new Air Traffic Services network for northern Europe this fall has been further promoted by a contract with ARINC to implement a stand-alone test station at EUROCONTROLs Experimental Centre located in Bretigny, France.
The test facility will be used to simulate air/ground data link messaging and communications between a ground network and multiple aircraft in flight.
Avionics suppliers and software developers can use the test cacility to pre-test hardware and protocols for the new ATN/VDL Mode 2 network ARINC is deploying for EUROCONTROL in northern Europe.
