SEP 16, 2003 (newstodate): Envirotainer foresees a significant increase in airlines' use of temperature-controlled containers.
Since the late 90'ies, market-leading Swedish manufacturer of a range of temperature-controlled containers Envirotainer has held a leading edge in this industry.
-There is still wide-spread use of various insulated containers to provide for transport of temperature-sensitive shipments, but we expect their days to be largely over, and the market will be taken over by various types of temperature-controlled units, says Magnus Welander, Envirotainer CEO.
According to Welander, the development will be spurred by airlines and, not least, freight forwarders who work with demanding customers, especially in the medico segment in Middle Europe and USA.
-The temperature-controlled unit allows for door-to-door solutions within an unbroken logistics chain which is much in demand, Welander says.
-While Envirotainer is still the world's leading provider of these hi-tech units, investing heavily in new technologies and research, there are a number of newcomers, and we actually welcomes this development as it strengthens the very concept of temperature-controlled containers and their supremacy over traditional solutions, Welander says.
