SEP 12, 2003 (newstodate): Widebody aircraft operations at Peshawar Airport have been resumed after a runway expansion and refurbishment.
Widebody operations were suspended at the airport durings seven days of work on the runway and taxi-ways, necessitated by the planned traffic by Emirates.
So far, Emirates was limited to operating an Airbus A310 on the twice-weekly route from Dubai but the airline will now introduce larger Airbus A330 aircraft that need longer runway facilities.
Emirates is known to have assisted in financing the airport project.
