SEP 02, 2003 (newstodate): At a meeting on September 1, Copenhagen Airport has presented its visions for an Airport Business Park comprising an intermodal cargo centre.
To be situated on a 418,000 sq.m. newly reclaimed area, the intermodal cargo centre will be designed to integrate air, sea, rail and truck operations.
So far, the ferry and cargo operator, Scandlines has expressed interest in talking to the airport about the visions for establishing a new cargo harbour at the airport.
Still in its visionary phase, the project will require huge investments that are currently firmly on the wishing list only.
The project hinges on the assumption of Copenhagen as a viable turn-table for intermodal freight to and from the Baltic and NOrth European region.
