SEP 17, 2003 (newstodate): Swedish provider of crew planning and optimization systems, Carmen Systems has inked a contract with British Airways to schedule the airline's 13,000 crew.
BA has already implemented the Carmen system for managing its crew on European routes, and results are reportedly convincing.
-The implementation of Carmen's software matches BA's philosophy of giving greater lifestyle choices to staff, while maintaining an efficient and robust operation, says David Cliffe, BA general manager operations planning.
Carmen Systems' software is now working with a range of airlines including, among others, Air France, Alitalia, Finnair, KLM, Lufthansa, SAS, SAS Commuter, Singapore Airlines and Spanair.
