SEP 22, 2003 (newstodate): The recent acquisition of shares in Islandsflug by Air Atlanta Icelandics owners does not signal any merger of the two ACMI-companies.
-The two companies will retain their individual business concepts and identities, and there will be no merger, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Air Atlanta Icelandic CEO and co-owner.
Air Atlanta operates an all-Boeing fleet of passenger and cargo aircraft, while operates a fleet also comprising Airbus, freighters and passenger aircraft.
-With the new relationship between the companies we can coordinate sales and marketing efforts, and tender to the needs of both Boeing and Airbus operators, even offering lease of a mix of aircraft under one ACMI contract, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson
