AUG 28, 2003 (newstodate): During the period January-June, Swedish airports' air cargo volumes kept almost stable, down 1.8 percent to 98,222 tonnes.
During the first quarter, volumes grew by 4.1 percent, while the second quarter was down by 7.5 percent.
The figures comprise only air cargo passing through an airport in Sweden. Thus all trucked cargo remains outside the statistics.
Swedish forwarders are increasingly consolidating their cargo shipments in Copenhagen Airport or continental airports, which may be part of an explanation behind the stagnation in Swedish air cargo volumes.
