AUG 15, 2003 (newstodate): Skyguide's Geneva Area Control Centre handled a total of 58,191 aircraft movements in July - its biggest-ever total for a single calendar month.
July is traditionally the busiest month in traffic terms, but this year, the traffic was handled at an unprecedented level of
punctuality, and without problems or disruptions.
The record-high volume is also takenas a welcome sign to prove that civil air traffic is regaining its breath after a prolonged period of depression.
Skyguide provides air traffic management services for around a million aircraft a year in the airspace above Switzerland and adjoining regions in neighbouring countries.
